3dMDvultus inc Announces Partnership with G William Arnett, DDS, FACD to Release a New 3D Arnett Treatment Planning Software Module
ATLANTA (5 October 2005) – 3dMDvultus inc (www.3dMDvultus.com), a market-specific 3D imaging and application company focused on building a broad set of 3D software visualization and analysis tools for the orthodontic community, today announced its cooperative relationship with G William Arnett, DDS, FACD and its plans to release a new 3D Arnett Treatment Planning Module. Dr Arnett is considered preeminent in the field of orthognathic surgery and recognized for his national and international lectures and articles.
Since 1994 he has given the popular and highly regarded Continuing Education Workshops for Successful Non-surgical and Surgical Orthodontics. Dr. Arnett is dedicated to teaching surgeons and orthodontists around the world how to obtain consistently excellent outcome results for patients through established treatment protocols.
With the recent purchase of the 3dMDface System, Dr Arnett will transition his unique evaluation and treatment principles, which involve soft tissue as a key element, from utilizing conventional 2D photography to highly precise 3D surface images. Dr Arnett has entered into a co-development relationship with 3dMDvultus to extend his facial soft tissue analysis methodology into an established, computerized 3D environment, so clinicians worldwide can apply his defined protocols in a consistent manner to each patient treatment.
3dMDvultus will release the Arnett Treatment Planning Module in the late fall of 2005.
“3dMD’s anatomical surface rendering enables clinical diagnosis and treatment planning that has never been possible before,” said Dr Arnett. “No longer will treatment be based the doctor’s sense of aesthetics, it will be guided by the principles of science. Doctors and most importantly, patients, will benefit from new technologies provided by companies such as 3dMD.”
“We are very excited to be working with Dr Arnett to incorporate his evaluation protocols into a readily available treatment planning software module, as we believe standardization of the very best assessment techniques will only improve patient care worldwide,” said Chris Lane, CEO of 3dMDvultus. “Orthodontists and surgeons imaging their patients with 3dMD systems will be able to use Dr Arnett’s techniques to plan treatments that achieve excellent long term aesthetic outcomes that not only ensure success from a structural and functional standpoint, but also success that the patient sees every day in the mirror.”
Dr. Arnett graduated with honors from the University of Southern California Dental School in 1972 and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of California at Los Angeles. He practiced comprehensive oral surgery until 1985 when he limited his practice strictly to facial reconstruction. As a lecturer and clinical instructor, Dr. Arnett trains both orthodontic and surgical residents for the University of California at Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Loma Linda University and University Medical Center at Fresno. Dr. Arnett is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has been honored as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Currently, half of Dr. Arnett's professional time is dedicated to teaching surgeons and orthodontists around the world who request his computerized courses. This format provides tremendous enhancement to the educational experience and is rated excellent by attendees.
