SAN FRANCISCO – 3dMD, the world’s market leader in highly precise, ultra-fast 3D surface imaging and 3D applications, announced the latest generation release of its 3dMDtorso System, which is modular in design as a result of direct feedback from the 3dMD user community.

With a proven 10-year track record of continuous product development and improvement, 3dMD has redesigned the 3dMDtorso System to be simply and economically configured for breast reconstruction and augmentation cases or more elaborately configured for breast reduction and more complex procedures. The 3dMDtorso System is modular so it can be reconfigured to capture even the most difficult cases, as well as upgraded at any time in the field to increase torso coverage as needed.

“With a firm dedication to improving patient care for breast reconstruction patients, the University purchased 3dMD’s non-invasive imaging system with grant funding from the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Peoria Memorial Affiliate, to help improve reconstructive surgical techniques, maximize efficiency, and reduce revisional surgery” said Dr John Murray of the University of Illinois, College of Medicine at Peoria. “We selected 3dMD because 3dMD continues to demonstrate their commitment to advancing 3D and supporting their customers’ initiatives.”

“3dMD supplied its first 3dMDtorso System in 2001 and since then has been committed to continually improving the software and hardware based on real experience in the field,” said Chris Lane, CEO of 3dMD. “3dMD is delighted to have recently sold the latest generation system and software to two of the world’s leading research groups where the complete flexibility and power of 3dMD’s solution will enable massive progress to be made in the area of breast reconstruction and aesthetics.
